School deal with trans student

If you're not familiar with Kim Pearson, she's the mother of a 2nd grader in Douglas County Schools who is transgender and returning to school as a girl. More recently she and her child were at the center of huge radio scandal on The Rob, Arnie, & Dawn in the Morning show on KRXQ radio in Sacramento were they were the center of bigoted attacks of the show's hosts. Subsequently this lead to online boycotts, on both sides of the argument (misnomer) that lead to many hateful, horrific opinions on the subject. There might be a Santa clause, but... Yes, Kim... There really is bigotry in America... and sadly so.

Good to see an enlightened school district, or at least enough of the leadership there.

Just want to provide a little clarification.

Kim Pearson does NOT have a child in Douglas County schools. She was defending my child, and family, at the time.

Kim and her child were also not at the center of the Rob, Arnie, and Dawn controversy. That was yet another family in Kansas.

Kim is an advocate who tirelessly works to prevent discrimination against such children and their families. That is why she appears in most of these cases. She is part of the organization Trans-Youth Family Allies (imatyfa.org).

Thank you for the clarification on this matter. As this was posted at 4:55 in the morning, I probable wasn't awake to check the information. I hope everything has worked out for you and your child.
